Covadonga Pilgrimage Breaks Records Again

The sixth Nuestra Senora de la Christiandad pilgrimage to Covadonga in Spain took place in late July.  The 100 km walk attracted 1,700 pilgrims, an increase of 40 percent over the number taking part in 2023.  A total of 39 chaprers took part including ten international chapters from the United States, France, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands Poland, Australia and Mexico.

As in the previous two years, the organisers were prevented from holding the Traditional Latin Mass in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Covadonga.  Instead, Mass was celebrated at the campsites along the way.

Mass at one of the campsites.  Note the Spanish Birettas.
